Piano | Theory | RCM Exam PrepPiano Lessons in Calgary
Time Music Studios offers private piano lessons in Calgary for kids, teens and adults, in our West Springs studio in SW Calgary or in your home in select SW and NW communities. Every lesson is one-on-one, and new students start with weekly 30-minute lessons.

Piano lessons for every age and level
Whether your child is touching the keys for the first time or you are an adult coming back to the piano, our teachers start where you are. Lessons are one-on-one and tailored to the student’s age, level and goals, from first songs and reading music to classical repertoire and pop favourites.
We also teach music theory and prepare students for Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams. Several of our piano teachers hold RCM piano levels themselves, so they know the path well. Not every student wants exams, and that is fine too: we can follow a flexible, student-tailored approach instead.

RCM Grade 8 in piano and trumpet, with composition studies at Berklee College of Music. West Springs on Mondays and Fridays, and in-home in SW Calgary Tuesday to Thursday.
Piano, Theory & WoodwindsJennifer
RCM Grade 8 piano and Grade 10 flute, a Bachelor of Music in Woodwinds and 17 years of teaching. Comfortable with all ages and levels. West Springs.
Piano, Theory & VoiceJessica
RCM Grade 8 piano and Grade 9 voice. Teaches beginner to intermediate students of all ages. A great fit if you want piano and singing. West Springs.
Piano & TheoryMariyana
RCM Grade 9 piano and a degree in Early Childhood Education. Teaches beginner to intermediate students ages 5 and up. West Springs and in-home in NW Calgary.

In the studio or at home
Studio lessons are $43 per 30-minute lesson at our West Springs studio, open Monday to Thursday 2 to 9 PM and Friday 1 to 8 PM. In-home piano lessons are $48 per 30-minute lesson: Craig teaches in SW Calgary and Mariyana in NW Calgary. See in-home lessons for details.
Students can perform at our February and June recitals. Performing is optional, and family and friends are welcome to attend for free.

Our One-Month Paid Trial is 4 weekly 30-minute lessons: $172 in the studio or $192 in-home, paid upfront. You can start a trial any time of year. It is an easy, low-pressure way to meet a teacher and see how lessons fit your week.

Before Your First Lesson | Piano
What age can my child start piano?
We teach students of all ages, and some teachers prefer certain ages or levels. Mariyana teaches beginners ages 5 and up. Tell us about your child and we’ll match them with the right teacher.
Do I need a piano at home?
Having an instrument to practise on at home is vital. A beginner can start on a keyboard, but as they progress they will need a weighted 88-key digital or acoustic piano.
Is 30 minutes long enough?
Yes. A half hour is perfect for a beginner on any instrument, and all new students start with weekly 30-minute lessons.
Do you prepare students for RCM piano exams?
Yes. We teach theory and prepare students for Royal Conservatory exams. Read more in our FAQ.
Try a One-Month Paid Trial
Get started with 4 weekly 30-minute lessons for $172 in our West Springs studio, or $192 for in-home lessons in SW and NW Calgary, paid upfront by credit card. If it isn’t a fit, email us within one week after the last trial lesson to withdraw. Otherwise, regular lessons simply continue, and after that we ask for 6 weeks’ written notice to stop lessons.
