Learn the guitar music you love

Some students want to strum songs around the campfire. Others want to shred a solo, play in a band or read classical pieces. Our guitar teachers are working musicians who play rock, blues, jazz, metal, pop and more, and they shape each lesson around the student’s favourite music and goals.

Lessons cover technique, chords, rhythm, reading and improvising, at a pace that suits the student. Bass and ukulele lessons are available with the same teachers, and many students move between instruments as they grow.

Studio or in-home guitar lessons

Studio lessons are $43 per 30-minute lesson at our West Springs studio, open Monday to Thursday 2 to 9 PM and Friday 1 to 8 PM. In-home guitar lessons with David in SW Calgary are $48 per 30-minute lesson. See in-home lessons in SW Calgary.

Need a guitar? We offer guitar rentals, and our TMS Retail store carries guitars, ukuleles, books and accessories.

Before Your First Lesson | Guitar

Do I bring my own guitar?

Yes. All students bring their instrument to lessons, except drums and piano. Having your own guitar to practise on at home is vital.

Can I rent a guitar?

Yes. We rent acoustic and electric guitars by the month, and if you decide to buy, half of the rental fees you’ve paid go toward the purchase price. See Rentals for current rates.

Do you teach bass and ukulele?

Yes. David, Aaron and Mike all teach guitar, bass and ukulele.

Who teaches in-home guitar lessons?

David teaches guitar, bass and ukulele in-home in select SW Calgary communities. Call us to ask whether your address is included.

Get started with 4 weekly 30-minute lessons for $172 in our West Springs studio, or $192 for in-home lessons in SW and NW Calgary, paid upfront by credit card. If it isn’t a fit, email us within one week after the last trial lesson to withdraw. Otherwise, regular lessons simply continue, and after that we ask for 6 weeks’ written notice to stop lessons.
