When can my child start?

We teach students of all ages, and some of our teachers prefer certain ages or levels. For young beginners, Mariyana teaches piano to children ages 5 and up, and Noelle teaches voice to students ages 7 and up. Tell us your child’s age, interests and any experience, and we’ll match them with the right teacher.

Short, focused 30-minute lessons

Every new student starts with a weekly 30-minute lesson. A half hour is perfect for a beginner on any instrument: long enough to learn something new, and short enough to stay focused and have fun.

All of our lessons are private and one-on-one. Over the years we found that one student per lesson works best: children bond with their teacher, stay focused and progress at their own pace. With several teachers on at once, siblings can often take lessons at the same time.

Practice and parents

For beginners, about 15 minutes of practice every day is a great start, adding time as they advance. Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson but don’t have to. It helps to stop in now and then for an update from the teacher.

Recitals in February and June

We hold two recitals every year, in February and June, so students can perform for a live audience. Family and friends attend for free. Recitals run in 6 to 8 programs through the day, sign-up sheets go up at the front desk a month before, and performing students pay $5 to book a spot. Performing is optional, and the teacher helps choose a piece.

Not sure your child will stick with it? Our One-Month Paid Trial is 4 weekly 30-minute lessons: $172 in the studio or $192 in-home, paid upfront. You can start a trial any time of year. If it isn’t a fit, email us within one week after the last trial lesson to withdraw.
