Biography

Shane holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Music from Dundalk institute of Technology, Majoring in Composition. He also holds Level 5 in Music with Audition Preparation with FETAC, Ireland’s equivalent to advanced Canadian RCM levels. He has been performing since the age of 17 across Ireland playing guitar, Tenor banjo and mandolin. He has had 5 years of musical schooling, 7 years of teaching experience and 9 years of playing experience. Shane enjoys teaching all types of genres including Blues, Folk, Funk, Pop & R&B. Through the study of musicianship and performance across a variety of genres from pop to traditional Irish music, in addition to music technology, composition, musicology, ethnomusicology and education, he is well equipped to tutor students in both instruments, as well as music theory. Shane enjoys teaching Beginner to Advanced students ages 6+.
